after a night of torrential rain Sunday at Creamfields is cancelled

I awoke in my car to the sound of text messages rattling onto my phone; all sent by my mates asking was my tent underwater? Was it cancelled? I stepped out of the car onto the sodden ground with a squelch, got dressed and decided to go and have a look about, the security team were under instructions to not let anyone onto the main site, and I could only access the camp where I had left my tent the previous morning.

Luckily it was bone dry after a couple of hours sun that morning, so I decided to pack it up, whilst doing this I received more texts saying that Creamfields would still be going ahead but only for weekend ticket holders that were already onsite, but that Sunday day ticket holders had been told they would not be able to come.

By the time I had taken my tent back to the car, the rumours were spreading that the whole event had been forced to finish, after asking some very helpful stewards the official announcement had been made, quite a lot of people had already made their way home after having their tents totally submerged over night in the freak storm.I did not see this with my own eyes but a friend sent me through a picture message of punters swimming around their tents.

The mass exodus was well managed and was a credit to the organisers of the festival and the cooperation of all involved. Although I was really gutted to be missing acts such as Tiesto, Axwell, Deadmau5, and Groove Armada to name but a few. I had still had one of the best days of my whole summer on the Saturday.

The rain did not dampen my spirits on the Saturday, and believe me I will be back next year!
