Day Two at the Cornbury festival again brought the beautiful weather and another incredible line up. A pleasant and unexpected surprise from the weekend came in the form of LA based Vintage Trouble, and the sensational Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Vintage Trouble
Vintage Trouble, to me, changed the entire weekend. Fresh off supporting Bon Jovi during his UK tour, they were powerful, exciting and exhilarating to watch with a front man who oozed confidence and vibrancy. Every song was amazing and the audience went frantic especially to 'Pelvis Pusher' and "....1,2,3 push your pelvis with me...". Vintage Trouble stated that their sound was "...Live-wired, straight-shootin, dirty-mouth'd, pelvis-pushing juke music .." and the audience completely lapped it up. They were divine. A fantastically talented band which without Cornbury Festival I would have never heard of or discovered.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor
Moving over to the Song Bird stage, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her band continued the weekend in her own radiating way. Her new sound feels rather electric pop which shows her progression as a musician. Bextor is sophisticated with how she looks and how she sounds. Bextor has not appeared to have let the developing music scene effect her or the way in which she approaches music. Her newest single 'Star Light' projected her straight back to where she belongs – at the top. Bextor's voice was fantastic live and judging by the size of the crowd, who chose to watch her over Ray Davies, I was not the only one.

Being a newbie to The Faces, I did not know what to expect. Yet as I know Mick Hucknall's voice through his work with 'Simply Red', and Ronnie Wood's guitar skills with the Rolling Stones, I could begin to piece together the band. The Faces, to their credit, proved that they were not simply Rod Stewart's band, but they were a band who were all legends in their own rights. It is easy to say that Saturday night at the Cornbury Festival was explosive. The chemistry between the band was evident with the way that they looked and played alongside each other on the stage. Joined on stage by Wood's son, the Faces took to the main stage at half nine – clearly being a highly anticipated one to watch.
