Taking place over two days, this inclues a street festival in the town centre on Saturday from 11am onwards featuring music, dance, poetry in the pub and other literary events, street theatre, storytelling, magic, a Punch and Judy show and 'the Boadicea Challenge'.

From 3.30pm onwards there is to be a Great Samba Ramble, a procession with bands which will arrive at the Carnivale in the Park. Open from 11am, there will be local musicians and traditional and ethnic dance groups rounded off by colourful Brazilian rythmns and finishing around 7pm.

On Sunday from 11am until 4.30pm there will be the Great Cloth Fair taking place in the upper Castle Park. This puts an emphasis on Colchester's past with historical re-enactments, musicians, the Colchester Tapestry, a fleece to cloth project, Promenade Plays, history lectures, and archery, as well as raptors and ferret racing, craft stalls and food and drink outlets.
