last updated : Fri 20th Jun 08 Clennell Hall Folk Festival takes place from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th May 2009 at Clennell Hall Hotel, in Northumberland. The festival organisers aim to bring together the very best of 'old and new' by presenting long-established folk artists, as well as some of the best young talent around, including students from the Folk and Traditional Music course at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Artists provisionally booked for 2009 include Jeremy Taylor, Something Nasty in The Woodshed, Kimber's Men, Paul Downes, Adrian Nation, The Amazing Mr Smith, Ron Gardner, Joe Stead, Beeswing, Dave Minikin, John Bromley, Mary Brettell, Gareth Scott, Carl Cape, Lush Acoustic, Dave Ellison, Jiva, Exiles From Eden, Few Broth, Chloe and Charlotte, Clear Blue Skies, Shy-Talk, Chris Millner, Zulu storyteller - Nkosana Mpofu, and Dave Forshaw. There will also also be dancing, colour, and merriment from Addison Rapper and Clog, Hexham Morris and Hexhamshire Lasses, and Clogarhythm. There are also workshops & sing-a-rounds, stalls, arts & crafts, BBQ, and a fast food outlet, plus late bars, and bar food. ACCOMMODATION Camping will be FREE at the festival site and there are rooms available to book at the hotel which is hosting the event. More information will be here when available.
