Cheltenham Jazz Festival features big international names alongside the best of British talent, with up to 17,000 festival-goers attending a wide variety of performances across five days.

The diverse programme is accessible through various routes, from performances at the the Town Hall and at the Everyman Theatre, and other venues, to education projects, or live jazz and fine food at restaurants plus a buzzing fringe in bars and clubs around town.

The acts confirmed this year include Lizzy Parks; The Ruach Mass Choir with guests: Mica Paris, Ian Shaw, Alex Wilson and Jason Yarde; Lea Delaria; TG Collective; Imelda May; Soul Jazz Orchestra + Lack of Afro + DJs Pete Isaac (Jelly Jazz), Cool Cut C; Todd Gordon; Joe Stilgoe; Martino Unstrung; Beardyman and the Scratch Perverts; Colin Salmon; Hugh Masekela; Pat Martino and Julian Arguelles; The Convergence Quartet; Get The Blessing; Will Vinson Quartet; Robert Mitchell 3i0; The Homemade Orchestra with Michael Rosen; Tom Arthurs' Subtopia; Jack Dejohnette with Jerwood All Stars; Arve Henriksen; Dave Douglas Quintet; Gloucestershire Jazz Live Big Band;Blowpop Presents Krafty Kuts, DJ Format, John Stapleton, live set from Youngblood Brass Band; Don Byron's New Gospel Quintet; Adam Jackson; Chris Bowden's Tomorrow Band; Nigel Kennedy Quintet; Dave Liebman; John Surman; Infinitum; and Portico Quartet; with more gigs still to be announced.

Friday night will have the BBC Concert Orchestra presenting an evening of jazz theatre based on the tragic life story of Billy Strayhorn.

For the third year running the marquee in Imperial Gardens will play host to a series of fantastic free events across the bank holiday weekend including a performance by the winners of the 2nd Budvar Brewed Jazz Competition.
