CAMP BESTIVAL INFORMATION

What is it?

Set in a lovely location, which can be a bit of a nightmare to getto if you arrive at the same time as everyone else Camp Bestival has to be one of the best festivals for families with young children in the country.

Even if you don't have kids it can still be hugely rewarding, if you’re into the Bestival DJ/dance music ethic.

The festival has a wide range of entertainment during the day including jousting, and big screen kids TV, computer games buses, and is host to Nickleodeon kids tv show themed tents, as well as woodland walks, a small animal petting area, and a whole gamut of other things to do.

At night the festival does change personality slightly, with the little ones in bed the adults tend to party, and the Magic Meadow plays host for some high energy dancing and silent headphone DJ sets. Music tends to be breakthrough acts, more eclectic artists, and a few big international names.

There's a wide choice of catering options at London-centric prices, and a complete absence of clothes and festie tat stalls. There are dressing up stalls, and the like instead.

A colourful weekend with a fancy dress theme each year, with Lulworth at its heart, all in a compact site, although the campsite area is quite a trek to get through for those camping at the furthest reaches.
