The many flavours of jazz from big bands, trad bands, jazz sextets and duos, plus blues from well known bands and performers are showcased throughout the town.

The Jazz festival returns for a ninth year over three days, from Friday 30th September until Sunday 2nd October 2016, at a variety of venues from hotels and cafes to outside in the town square of this small Scottish town.

This year’s programme offers over 45 live gigs staged in 22 venues in and around the Trossachs town of Callander including The Revolutionaires, The Jive Aces, Jazz Connection, The Cosmopolitan Big Band, The Andy Taylor Group, Sound of Seventeen Big Band, Fraser Lyndsay's Blues Incentive, Black Snake Roots, Used Blues, Last Tango in Memphis, Spinning Wheel, Winston's Pennine Jazz, The Bassford Bandits, The Jazz Pack, Elephant Gerald, Viper Swing, Vida Lee Blues Band, Catfish Blues, The Lewis Hamilton Band, The George Lindsay Band, Fat Suit, The Deke McGee Band, Penman's Jazzmen, Hoochie Coo, KWAK, The Big Easy, Blue Lane, Nae Spring Chickens, Brian Rawson Band, Uncle Red, Helias, Jenne McClure Jazz Band, Lucy Lockwood Quartet, Laura B and Her Band, Hicks, Urban Poets Duo, Nossa Bossa, The Terri Shaltiel Band, The Aubrey Gerber Dance Orchestra, Les Trois Blondes, The Blues Juniors, and Jim Crumley.

A weekend rover ticket is priced at £60, a Friday night rover is priced at £12, a Saturday all day rover is priced at £35, and a Sunday all day rover is priced at £20. Venue and cruise tickets are also available.

Rover Tickets admit you to every festival performance in the event programme for the weekend or stipulated day, subject to to space being available.

Getting there

Callander is the eastern 'gateway' town within The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The town is easily accessed from Junction 10 (Stirling) of the M9 and is located astride the A84 about 15 miles from that junction.

Free transport to and from Loch Katrine plus a shuttlebus service to McLaren High School, Callander Golf Club and The Gart and Keltie Bridge Caravan Parks will be provided and will leave from and return to South Ancaster Square.

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in Callander.
