Jazz by the Stour is an annual charity event held in the picturesque village of Bures which is located on the Essex/Suffolk border.

There is a Choral Night at St Mary's Church, Bures, on 8th July, starting at 7.30pm.

On 9th July from 7.45pm to 11.30pm there'll be a Blues Night with a bar and barbecue, in the marquee on Bures recreation ground. This will be introduced by BBC Radio Suffolk's, Stephen Foster. The two bands provisionally booked for this year are Badtown Blues and Dr Feelgood.

10th July features a very popular Swing Night, again in the marquee, with a bar, barbecue and doughnut stall. Free dance lessons will be available between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Blue Harlem have been invited to return this year due to popular demand. They will be ably assisted by The Sentimental Journey Record Show.

On Sunday 11th July, Bures recreation ground is open from 1pm-10pm, featuring music from The Stackyard Stompers, Alec and Jacqui Dankworth, The Karen Sharp Quintet and the Horn Factory.
On Sunday, there'll also be a tombola stall, hog roast and barbecue, fully licensed bar and teas. Free parking is available every day and there is free camping on Sunday when the gates open at noon.
