BunkFest 2008

Wallingford Bunkfest takes place from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st August 2008 in Wallingford, Oxfordshire.

Acts confirmed include Osibisa, Martin Carthy, Neck, Mad Dog McRea, Tom Bliss, East of Ealing, Pete Orton, Bill McKinnon, Joe O'Donnell's Shkayla, Black Rat, Jon Harvison, Colin Green & friends, Jodie O'Callaghan, Jody Wyatt, Acushla, Mew & Wooster, Alhambra, Ramblin' Minor, Short Drag Roger, Skyport Ade, A Pint and a Half of Blues, Different Reasons, with more yet to be confirmed.

The George Hotel (moved from the Portcullis Club) concerts in the Function Room include:
Friday evening - Tickets £8 (doors 19.30, starts 20.00): John Thomson, Jon Harvison, and Pete Orton.
Saturday afternoon - Free admission (doors 11.30, starts 12.00, finishes 17.30): Eddie Thompson, Ramblin Minor, Short Drag Roger, Dansmall, Alhambra, and The Riverboat Pirates.
Saturday evening - Tickets £10 (doors 19.30, starts 20.00): Colin Green & friends, Tom Bliss, and Martin Carthy.
Sunday afternoon - Free admission (doors 11.30, starts 12.00, finishes 17.30): Gemma Wylde, Greg Hastings & Linda Gillan, Dave Bennett & Brenda Hart, Jamie Huddlestone and Alice Little, The Keeling Curve, and Stompin' Dave Allen.

Bunkfest describes itself as "a leading event on the nationwide folk and roots music scene, with fabulous concerts, dance displays, ceilidhs, sessions, workshops, a huge craft and trader fair, arts for young people, an enormous beer festival, music on the river and a singing train. It is also a major event for the benefit of the town and surrounding villages.".
