BoomTown Fair is a music, arts and family festival that takes place at Stowe Landscape Gardens, Buckingham, in Buckinghamshire from Friday 13th until Sunday 15th August 2010. Now in its fourth year the festival will offer an array of music, theatre, comedy and art.

This year BoomTown Fair are concentrating much more on areas such as kids, family camping, circus performance and general site art and now with a massive emphasis on eco-friendly initiatives.

The main stage line-up will consist of ska and party bands from around the world, with the other live music stages offering cabaret, gypsy, folk, reggae, dub and country and western. Plus loads of cabaret, comedy, spoken word, a range of stages, an anarchist theatre, lots of site art and many areas to explore with plenty of catering options, all the normal facilities you'd expect at a festival and a massive emphasis on eco-friendly initiatives.

Line-up

The acts announced include headliners Toots And The Maytals, and The Beat (Sunday), plus Ska n Ska, Neville Staple (The Specials), The Wurzels, and Dub Pistols, plus Pronghorn, Pama International, Demented are Go!, SubHumans, The Caravans, Long Tall Texans, Slim Slip & the Sliders, Tragic Roundabout, The Don Bradmans, Rudi La Crioux & the All Stars, The Zen Hussies, Sick Note, Mojo Kings, and Who's Afear'd. Expect to see a huge range of DJ sets from some of the best producers in the UK and Europe, secret prohibition gigs from the festivals headline acts and in the mist of the evening when you're least expecting it, the zombie marches will be parading around Downtown lead by King Pakka and his mechanical flaming horse, ensure you do not cross their path as they do not take kindly to mere mortals!

Tickets

Tickets have sold out. An adult weekend ticket was priced at £74. All children aged 12 & under can attend for free. A weekend tickets for children aged 13 to 15, was priced at £33, a disabled ticket (2 tickets for price of 1) was priced at £58, and a campervan ticket was priced at £30. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21.

Family area

BoomTown will has a specially designated family campsite with showers, toilets, etc. There will also be a kiddies area with its own area and reception for babies, toddlers and children up to 12. The area is programmed with creative workshops, and has a chill out space for parents, and games.

Sound

The main arena layout has been re-designed in conjunction with Audio Funktions perfected 6 stack surround sound system (as used in the Arcadia field at Glastonbury Festival) this creates perfect controlled sound at any point within the arena, allowing it to have increased volume inside and reducing it outside.

Downtown

New for 2010 is Downtown a new area branch off which will incorporate all things bizarre ya average town can offer. With 6 new mini venues expect, rundown pubs, rotten restaurants, the Devil Kick's Dancehall, corrupt casinos and backstreet zombie balls.

Hold It Down

Boomtown Fair 2010 also sees the introduction the 'Hold It Down' field featuring a huge selection of creative workshops, healing areas, chill out zones and wholesome food outlets; a haven away from the main festival to chill out, learn new skills and rest weary dancing feet!.

Arcadia

Last, but by no means least, Arcadia will be covering BoomTown with pyrotechnic installations and fire breathing sculptures. Fresh from taking Worthy Farm by storm with their much-documented field - Arcadia are a unique collective talented beyond measure at creating post apocalyptic spaces filled with out-of-this world activities.
