last updated : Thu 3rd Jul 08 Bloodstock is to hold its fourth Open Air festival. The aim is to offer a traditional Rock Music Festival comparable to those regularly seen in Europe (but on a smaller scale of 6,000-10,000 capacity), and capturing the spirit of the original Monsters Of Rock shows which used to take place at Castle Donington during the 1980's and 1990's. A number of acts are confirmed, with Dimmu Borgir performing their only UK show in 2008, plus As I Lay Dying, Opeth, Iced Earth, Helloween, At The Gates, Soilwork, Primal Fear, Overkill, Moonsorrow, Kataklysm, Tyr, Swallow The Sun, Eluveitie, Cloudscape, Crowning Glory, Communic, Evile, and Saint Deamon and more all set to play. More acts will be confirmed over the coming months. For the latest details (as available) click here. As well as the international heavy metal bands across three stages, Bloodstock offers a large selection of merchandise stalls, metal karaoke, a campsite and a wide selection of food and bars. Tickets are on sale, priced at £85 for the three days with camping, £35 for children aged 4-11, and £7 for car parking (£10 if bought on the gate). Click here to buy. More information will be here when available.
