Also announced for 2011 by organisers is the St Patrick's day Street Party which will take over the centre of Arinsal with a perfect mix of Irishness and good old wrongness. The party will be curated and hosted by Uncle Si and Grandpa Screech. The duo return following this year's their fondue night (complete with a Xmas set and barn dance section…) and will be ripping up the main street with their 'special' mix of vocal classics, music, street performers, random events, and fancy dress with a slant towards crap Leprechaun outfits.

The resort

Arinsal is in the Vallnord ski area and has an altitude of 2560m ensuring snowy peaks throughout the season. From gentle, open pistes for complete rookies, to huge powder bowls and tree-lined runs for experts, the area offers skiing and boarding landscapes for all levels. It has 40,000 square metres of freestyle terrain, with a half-pipe, rails, kickers, boxes and a designated chill-out space.

For complete novices or for those wanting some top tips to improve their snow skills, Vallnord offers an excellent ski and snowboard school, with English speaking instructors.

Connected by cable car to the neighbouring resort of Pal, the area is collectively known as Vallnord and is famed for its slopes, nightlife, and cheap prices.

Tickets with various flight, accommodation and wristband options can be purchased.
