2010 will be remembered for some of the finest weather to grace some of this years biggest festivals, Glastonbury probably the sunniest ever, v Festival mostly dry, even Leeds & Latitude remained dry so I guess it was only a matter of time before the ugly weather roared its scabby head. Snow, cold, don't even consider travelling in the north said the road report on the radio today on the drive to Skegness!!!. Reaching Skegness it became clear that this was going to be one cold weekend.

At Butlins we where greeted at the gate by a charming security person who decided the van was to large to inspect who waived us straight into the holiday camp, check in was a breeze and finding our chalet with the free map was also pretty much stress free. The walk from the van to the chalet made us realise just how cold it was thankfully the chalet's heating had been turned on already and was lovely & warm, we made a coffee & had a look through tonight's line up.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the Big Reunion Weekend & to be honest the line up does not really inspire when compared to previous years, tonight's highlight being Example really does sum up the poor line up of this evening. Now going to lots of festivals over the years, The Big Reunion is not what you would call your regular festival goers destination. If you go to Glastonbury or Leeds / Reading then you are pretty much unlikely to have this event on your calendar. However if you went on a Club 18-30 holiday to Magaluf, Malia & Faliraki then this event is right up your street. Lots of girls not wearing very much clothing and the lads dressed in their grey skinny jeans, plimsoll's and black jumpered hoodies, where everyone sports a Superdry logo & possibly covered in Joop!!!

We make our way to the Skyline Pavilion where we catch the end of a very hyperactive Wizard Sleeve who is in that dance vein similar to Prodigy with lots of crowd interaction & we both agreed we had wished we had seen all the set as the crowd clearly loved what was happening.

Example
So Example's stage appearance has a very large attendance much of this is due to the other arenas still being closed & with outside temperatures plummeting to minus two degrees, inside seems the best option, Example plays his singles & the crowd seem to enjoy it, but it just seemed a little lacklustre.

We go into the Reds stage to catch a not so busy crowd watching the ever larger than life DJ Psycho mashing up & getting the limited crowd to stamp around. We decided after a very very cold walk back to the skyline and the snow starting to fall we would call it a night. Hopefully The Twang & The Courteeners tomorrow can liven our spirits …
