AntiProduct

Beautiful Days 2005 review

Thursday 25th August 2005

It's not often that a festival performance inspires me to write an unplanned review, but AntiProduct did just that.

But for all the wrong reasons! Without a doubt, these were the worst band I've seen in many years, so bad they were almost laughable (only 'almost' tho - cringeworthy is more apt).

Imagine you and your mates go and see Hawkwind for the very first time. Then after, you go home and watch Spinal Tap. To finish off the evening, you watch The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle. Then you all decide to mix it up and form a band, and convince yourselves you're good. This, to me, was AntiProduct.

They told us that George Bush was 'poop'. They tried to start a crowd sing-a-long (and failed, due to real lack of interest). They destroyed the Beach Boys 'Good Vibrations'. They made noise.

I'm sat here now, desperately trying to think of something good to say. Perhaps some of the kids watching found AntiProduct's painted faces nice?

And for a band called "AntiProduct", you might think they'd live up to their name. Not a bit - if you really want to damage your ears, you can go out and buy their products. Perhaps they're just anti about you buying someone elses? Me, I'm very anti-them.
