The family friendly, laid back, fancy dress party with beards, bands and DJs, returns as a three day event to Kedleston Hall Park, in Derbyshire and is held from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th May 2013, with early entry available on Thursday (for an additional fee).

Line-up

The latest act to be added is The Outcast Band who won a competition to play Tornado Town stage beating over 100 bands who entered.

They join Reverend And The Makers' Asian Dub Foundation, and Levellers will headline with Karine Polwart, Seth Lakeman, New Model Army, Stiff Little Fingers, The Farm, Macka B, The Quireboys, Citizen Fish, Lancashire Hotpots, New Groove Formation, ahab, Zombie Met Girl, Maroon Town, Gallon Drunk, The Zen Hussies, The Caezars, Tankus The Henge, The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing, Buster Shuffle, Left Step Band, Port Erin, Boot Hill All Stars, Bootscraper, The Bakseats, Frenzy, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Ruts DC, The Destroyers, A Guy Called Gerald & special guests, Peatbog Faeries, The Egg, Pure Mischief, Gail Somethingelse and Rev Phil, BB BlackDog, Shooglenifty, Billy Vincent, The Rock & Roll Town Crier, Jazz Morley, DH Lawrence & The Vaudeville Skiffle Show, Lucy Ward, and more. Every year Bearded Theory attempts to break the world record for the most amount of people wearing a fancy dress beards in one place and at one time.

Tickets

The early bird tickets have sold out. A weekend camping Thursday ticket is priced at £89, and camping from Friday is priced at £79. A 13-16 year old weekend ticket is priced at £40 or £45 including early entry Thursday, a child's aged 6-12 weekend tickets is priced at £10 whether for arrival on Thursday or Friday, children aged 5 and under are free and Family Tickets are priced at £230 (2 x adult & 2 x children) or £260 with Thursday entry. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

There will a charge for car parking of £10. A live in vehicle ticket is priced at £25.

This year day tickets are available priced at £37.50 (Adults), £20 (Under 16's), and £5 (Under 12's). A Family day ticket for 2 Adults and 2 Children is priced at £80 with under 5's able to attend free (ticket is still required). Day Parking is £10 (No Campervans / Live In Vehicles).

Joint ticket offer

A joint ticket is available for both Bearded Theory, and the Spring Off The Tracks Festival held in Derbyshire on consecutive weekends in 2013. A joint entrance ticket to both Derbyshire festivals is priced at £125, and also includes the offer of discounted camping facilities between festivals at the home of Off The Tracks, the Donington Park Farmhouse Hotel, at Castle Donington. The Spring Off The Tracks Festival takes place from Friday 24th until Sunday 26th May 2013 at Park Farmhouse, at Castle Donington - a week after Bearded Theory.

New for 2013

There will be a new area in the campsite which will house a new cabaret tent that will show case bizarre acts, stand-up comedy, competitions and provide a circus show. The tent will also be a late night venue and have comedians on until the early hours.

The Lock Inn stage will be located in the Hay Wood Campsite offering mix match of entertainment from theatre performances, jamming sessions, up & coming new talent, reggae DJ, cabaret and late night comedy taking us into the early hours. The area will be complimented by a Cocktail Bar, Chill Out Café, outdoor seating area and it will remain open later than all the other stages.

Midlands Funhouse Comedy who will be scheduling comedians to perform at 'Later at the Lock Inn'. The evenings will be compared by Bethany Black on Friday and John Warburton on Saturday, joined by Pierre Hollins, Ben Schofield, Wes Zaharuk, Mark Rough, Jonny & the Baptists and Sean Percival.

The family camping area will now include a little playground area surrounded by picnic tables.

Organisers have put huge effort into improving the site visually and have sourced a number of art collectives from all over Derbyshire to come and create various areas, gardens and add a bit more weird stuff everywhere.

The festival will also offer a huge childrens area, site art, on-site art work, world foods, open mic, busk stop, random happenings, camping, and more.

Opening times

Gates open at 2.30pm till 7pm on Thursday 16th May for Thursday ticket holders and 9am Friday 17th May for standard weekend ticket holders.
