The dates for 2007 are confirmed as Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July, and the festival is now confirmed as definitely going ahead, having overcome their financial difficulties.
Now called Ashton Court Festival (previously it was Bristol Community Festival, although mostly known as Ashton Court Festival), it's a community festival with some international acts as well as local talent, and as many as 150 performers over the weekend.
Expect some big name acts along with some lesser known bands over 8 stages, marquees and big tops. As well as music there's a kid’s area, stalls selling food and crafts from around the world.
Headline acts this year are The Fall, Gravenhurst, & Mad Professor on the Saturday, and The Good, the Bad and the Queen, Enter Shikari, Horace Andy and Dub Asante Band, and Quantic (DJ Set) on the Sunday. This year, the festival is moving site within the Ashton Court Estate, to Smythes Field, directly in front of the mansion house. This means that there's no longer a mile walk within the estate to get to the festival, making access far easier. The licenced capacity is being reduced from 40,000 to 30,000, meaning that there'll be more space within the festival site.
Alcohol is not permitted to be brought onto the festival site. There will be several bars on site.
There's no camping on site and it's recommended that you contact Bristol's tourist information service for details of local campsites and B&B accommodation.
To celebrate its 33rd birthday, Ashton Court have created a whole new area within the festival. The ‘Enchanted Garden’ area is about bringing the more alternative ways of life to the mix, and will include the Orchid Stage, Craft Village with a focus on creativity, and a soothing and relaxing Healing Area.
Over the 2 days of the Ashton Court Festival, the Orchid Stage will present music from across all genres including Cynthia Quek, Rob Spalding, Jamie Cruickshank and the Stringbean Quartet. In the Symbolife Craft Village you can help paint a festival banner, screen print, learn how to draw cartoons, paint your own festival ‘legal graffiti’, make a dream catcher or create a new fashion in a recycling clothes workshop.
Outside on The Green you can take part in Tai Chi, Bollywood dance, co-operative games or watch a martial arts display.

The organisers of the Ashton Court Festival have now announced the prices for those festival goers who buy their tickets on the gate.
For adults a day ticket bought at the gate will cost £15 for each day they want to attend, and children aged 10-16 will pay £8 per day.
Under 10’s are still free.
Parking passes will also be on sale now at £8 per day, and will only be available in advance.
