The first of two December weekenders, All Tomorrows Parties - Nightmare Before Christmas will be held from Friday 3rd until Sunday 5th December 2010 at Butlins Resort, Minehead, Somerset. ATP is a sponsorship free festival where the organisers and artists stay in the same accommodation as the fans.

Line-up

The event's curator will be Godspeed You Black Emperor!, who will also perform. Also confirmed so far are Throbbing Gristle, Tindersticks, The Sadies, Weird Al Yankovic, NoMeansNo, Oneida with The Ocropolis, Josephine Foster, White Magic, Emeralds, Boban & Marko Markovic Gypsy Orkestar, Daniel Higgs (Lungfish), Wolves In The Throne Room, Marissa Nadler, Growing, Rangda, Neurosis, Bardo Pond, The Ex, Deerhoof, The Dead C, Black Dice, Francisco Lopez, Tim Hecker, Mike Watt, and Scout Niblett. Tickets

Tickets were on sale priced at £175 per person (room or chalet bookings), and have sold out.

Accommodation

Room Only accommodation offers either double, single or bunk beds with private bathroom and TV, but no kitchen facilities or lounge, more like a hotel room. Self Catering accommodation offers private bathroom, full kitchen facilities and separate lounge area with TV. Tickets are selling fast, and Room Only accommodation is available in 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 berth rooms, and Self Catering accommodation is also available in 4, 6, and 7 berths.

Book Club

In Between Days

This will be the first of two festival weekends from ATP this December the other being Bowlie 2 curated by belle & Sebastian and running from Friday 10th until Sunday 12th December 2010. ATP will also be repeating last year's In Between Days event, which runs at Butlins between the two weekend festivals and features intimate performances from a range of bands. Details of In Between Days will also be announced on the 9th.

All tickets include a 3-day festival pass and 3 nights accommodation. Ticket includes performances starting from mid-afternoon, with around 40 acts set to play live across the weekend. There are four pubs and DJ sets through till late.

On site

Butlins Minehead looks out across a sandy beach. The site is equipped with a supermarket, newsagent, cash points and restaurants. Onsite facilities include an ATP programmed cinema, Splash Water World - a sub-tropical environment that has a wave pool, a swimming pool, 3 flumes and also a flume based raft ride - Ten-pin bowling and amusement arcade. Sports include Archery, Football, Basketball, Darts, Petanque, Fencing, Kwik Cricket, Netball, Rounders, Table Tennis, Outdoor Bowls and Crazy Golf.

Getting There by Road

Heading north the simplest route is to take the M5 to Taunton (Junction 25), then take the A358 and A39 to Minehead. Heading south on the M5, you can follow the signposts for the A39 from junction 24. Butlins Minehead Holiday Camp is just half a mile along the seafront road from Minehead town centre.

Getting There by Train

If travelling by train, the nearest main line station to Minehead is Taunton. A bus transfer service is operated by Southern National between Taunton Station and Minehead. This service is available at an additional cost. On Mondays to Saturdays, there's approximately an hourly service, with the last bus leaving Taunton Railway Station at 10:15 pm. On Sundays and Bank Holidays services run every 2 hours from 9:35 am - 9:35 pm. For general information call Southern National on 01823 272033.
